quick update – port surgery went fine

//to catch up to speed: liver, etc progression based on PET/CT scan last week; time to switch treatments again. The next line of treatment will be chemo (Taxol) administered via intravenous infusion.

Port surgery went smoothly (a port is a device placed under the skin, connected to the vein near the chest for chemo administration directly). Doc managed to use the same location as the old port. She checked in at 0700 in the morning and was checked out just before 1100.  Due to the covid situation, I couldn’t go into the building with her. That felt strange.  She’s resting well, icing, watching some TV.

Dressing comes off Friday. Tomorrow starts the iv chemo regimen after a check with the doc.
