In normal life we hardly realize how much more we receive than we give, and life cannot be rich without such gratitude. It is so easy to overestimate the importance of our own achievements compared with what we owe to the help of others.
~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison Sep 13th 1943.
The video calls. The quick thoughts sent over messaging apps. The visits. The helping hands. The little things done while we are away. The words of encouragement and support. The assistance with medical “stuff”. The prayers. The rides to and from the airport. The surprises in the mail. The meals. The jokes and laughter. The hugs. The updates to keep us involved in your lives. The emails filled with kind words that sit unanswered in our inboxes.
And more importantly, the source of it all. You.
Thank you. These past months, many of you have helped us more than we could express thankfulness for. Many of you have voiced to us about the strength we’ve shown along this path. Please know that you make a difference. A source of strength that we are blessed to draw from.
As we head into the Christmas weekend and the last week of the calendar year, we wish you joy. Wishes for a Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year go out to you and your loved ones.
Photos above are from a month ago, when it first snowed in Seoul this season.
It’s been awhile since we’ve posted updates. I’ve got a smattering of snippets backlogged. But the resolution to cut out extra cups of coffee interrupted the writing routine; since posts had generally been drafted while reflecting at a café. Hopefully, I get into a different regular routine for writing updates again. Thanks for checking in with us.
